Emily Coughlin

I love teaching slow yoga classes that incorporate movement and breath connections. I love making the energy move and dance in my body and helping others find that fluidity. I like to offer places where students can give self-massage, self-love, and deepen awareness. I am inspired by anatomy and by the philosophy of yoga. I love creative playlists and long meditations and savasanas. My goal overall is to help others connect with themselves and their bodies wherever they may be in that particular moment.

I teach because it helps me stay grounded in my own practice. I am also so inspired by the students every time I get in front of a class and I love getting to watch others settle into themselves and their bodies.

I started teaching yoga after receiving my 200 YTT certification through Radiance. I have been a long time yogini student and anticipate that I will always be a student at heart. Yoga has transformed my relationship to myself and I am excited to be able to now offer assistance in  the transformation of others. I am a seasoned massage therapist and massage instructor so I have found that background gives me a boost in teaching anatomy and breath.

When you come to my class you can expect to have a long warm-up, breath to movement, and a challenge to go deeper within. You can expect some mobility-inspired movements to encourage healthy joints and muscles. My favorite pose is resting half-frog because it’s comfy and a good hip release! I also love adding mini-flows into a pose such as Warrior 2 because it invites movement and mobility in the pose. Come join me in class so we can relax, breathe, and move together!
