During my 9 to 5 workweek I’m a court psychologist. It may seem like a strange combination, but yoga balances the “sitting, thinking-and-writing-about what’s-wrong-with-people” side of my life with movement, freedom to breathe in the present moment, and celebrate the light in all of us. As a former serious dance student, I also relish the opportunity to sway and flow to music once again, without all the rigid emphasis on perfect technique and body type.
In my classes, I aim to help students connect to their bodies, ease their minds, and feel lighter in their hearts through simple meditation and flowing poses that can be modified or expanded to suit everyone. No matter the modifications students use, they will build strength, flexibility, and balance while also feeling good and having fun. I enjoy creating themes for my classes that link human experience to nature, and that encourage students to tune into themselves through organic, empowering movements. I hope you’ll join me!
